Examining 4th Grade Gifted and Non-Gifted Students Understanding Levels of Place Value

The aim of this research is to reveal the understanding dimensions and sub-dimensions place value in natural numbers gifted non-gifted students attending fourth grade. A mixed approach was adopted research. quantitative terms revealing levels value, counting, representing, naming, renaming, comparing calculating general mean score both groups with for each dimension, it qualitative mistakes made these dimensions. study group consists 76 diagnosed as who attend four different SACs 90 grade a regular school town Central Anatolia Region. According findings obtained research, revealed that diagnosis giftedness could not reach desired learning level count by 10 forward sub-dimension counting dimension value. It also they non-standard representation dimension. On other hand division calculation concluded are had high success numbers.
